The clients were in the process of updating their property and had just completed an extension in a contemporary finish. They wanted a garden that complimented the new interior finishes and in particular a garden that felt connected through the new bi-fold doors. A contemporary garden was design with a porcelain patio leading out through from the bi-fold doors. Clay pavers were used as a contrast to the porcelain paving and to create separate zones within the garden. Clay pavers were used as a path to enter the garden and also for a pergola lined pathway leading to the “working zone” of the garden. Clay pavers were also used in a lower area of the garden where built in seating created a cosy nook to relax and enjoy a different view of the garden. Three fibreglass water feature bowls were sited in the planting border to act as a focal point within the garden that could be viewed from within the new extension and to bring the relaxing sound of flowing water to the garden. These bowls were finished in a complimentary colour to the porcelain paving. Planting for year round interest was designed and implemented and also included productive areas to grow fruit and veg.
